Taking the lead in purification activities by cleaning up garbage in the campus
International students clean up the campus on every morning of the first day of the month to remember the Saemaul spirit

International students at YU worked on cleaning up the campus on the ‘World Environment Day (Jun 5)’.
In the early morning of Jun 1, a total of 150 students comprised of international students enrolled in the YU Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul and students in the Department of Saemaul and International Development came to school two hours earlier than normal to clean up the campus.
This is the ‘Day for practicing the Saemaul Spirit’ of the Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul. This is a monthly event of the Saemaul Campaign to start the new month by cleaning up the campus on the first of every month.
The international students who gathered at the campus early in the morning distributed cleaning tools according to each of their jobs and were divided into groups to clean up the campus along Cheonmadae-ro that leads from the main gate of the school to the main campus building. Professors and faculty who teach the Saemaul Undong and spirit also took part in the campaign. Following the campus purification activities, students discussed activities for global environmental protection of each nation and the meaning of the ‘World Environment Day’ at the Park Chung Hee School where they exchanged opinions.
