The sports club of Yeungnam University has swept 'the 90th National Sports Festival' by receiving 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal
The students who participated as Gyeongbuk Province representatives in 'the 90th national gymnastics tournament' held in Daejeon from 21st to 26th of last month have accomplished a performance of receiving 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
Most of all, Shin, So-Yeon (3rd grade of Department of Special Physical Education, photo left) who had participated in the track and field of women's university section became a double medal winner by receiving a gold medal in 400m hurdle and silver medal in 400m race.
She said "my wish is to raise future talents of track and field to represent Korea by becoming an instructor after completing my life as an athlete" along with an impression "I'm very delighted to place first in this sports festival followed by placing 3rd last year after not being able to receive medals whenever I participated in the national sports festival because I got wounded or made a mistake as I didn't have any luck in large tournaments since I was young"
In addition, Chang, Yoon-Jung (3rd grade of School of Kinesiology) has expressed high enthusiasm by winning 2 gold medals in individual and group tournaments of triathlon.
Miss Chang has expressed her hopes by saying "I also want to win a medal in next year's Asian games" along with an impression "I'm very delighted to win a gold medal like this after many turns and twists such as getting bone fracture at top and bottom of my foot two weeks before the national sports festival."
Meanwhile, president Lee, Hyo-Soo encouraged the winners as he awarded medals directly by visiting the sports club in the morning of 2nd.
