Conclusion of Yeungnam University-Daegu FC Agreement, 6 month internship
Helpful for attracting excellent students from abroad

Lukkarinen MIikka Tapio of age 22 who is from Helsinki University of Finland. He who is currently enrolled in Yeungnam University's School of International Economics and Business in the capacity of an exchange student starting this semester can now go through an internship at Daegu FC. If he learns the practical work on the field for 12 hours or longer a week such as tournament assistance, supporter management & support and operational support of Youth Soccer Class, etc, he can also get oversea internship credits after returning to his country.
Yeungnam University (president Lee, Hyo-Soo) has prepared an internship program for exchange students who came from sister universities overseas. This is to provide an opportunity of building up various practical experiences while they study abroad at the Yeungnam University.
For this, Yeungnam University has signed an agreement related to performance of internship with Daegu FC (CEO Park, Jong-Sun) at the university Main Administration Building in the afternoon of 25th. Accordingly, the foreign exchange students who come to Yeungnam University can now perform internship at Daegu FC for up to 6 months. Yeungnam University is planning to get the evaluation results of performance from Daegu FC and deliver to the exchange student's affiliated university.
To this, the dean of International Programs Joo, Sang-Woo (50, School of Mechanical Engineering) has expressed his intentions by saying that "let's invite the distinguished foreign students by providing programs for them to build up internship experience abroad while studying at the same time at the university."
Meanwhile, the total number of foreign students currently enrolled in Yeungnam University is 1,073. The number of foreign students have increased by about 3.2 times in last 5 years such as being increased by about 70 people compared to first semester and by about 150 people compared to the same period of last year.
The exchange students who came from sister universities abroad also have increased by about 1.7 times compared to 5 years ago with a total of 74 people currently as of September. The nationality of exchange students have also become diverse with a total of 11 countries including Finland, Poland, France, Netherlands, China, Japan ad Vietnam, etc at this time compared to merely being China, Japan, Russia and Vietnam five years ago.
On the other hand, Yeungnam University has dispatched 209 enrolled students overseas only during this semester. Among them, 143 students were dispatched to a total of 11 countries with qualification as exchange students. Especially, the 3 people among them have been dispatched to Barshaba University of Poland, Helsinki University of Finland and Slovania Rublyana University through the exchange student and internship program by joint sponsorship of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea and EU, so called ‘SAIPEKS’(Study Abroad and Internship Programme for European and Korean Students).
