"New Cultural Center for Great Performances and Deep Impression"

Yeungnam University 60th Anniversary Monument <Chunma Arts Center> was completed after 16 months of construction.
On January 16, 150 guests participated in the ceremony for the completion of the Chunma Arts Center that has a total floor space of 17,083㎡, spanning 2 lower level floors and 7 upper level floors. It is a high tech building equipped with performance halls, conference rooms and exhibition galleries.
The Grand Hall has a capacity 1,899 and is square auditorium that represents Mother Earth. Because of its high tech design with the best audio system, optimal lighting system and stage system adaptable to wagon type boasts, the hall is the optimized facilities for performances of various genres such as symphonies, operas, musicals and concerts. Especially, the 3-level trust stage is very unique making it a 'stage of dreams' for conductors, producers and choreographers. Futhermore, the more accessible large recital hall, the pleasant dressing room, the complete rehearsal room, and the 5 language simultaneous interpretation room also complete this facility.
The 510 capacity Chamber Hall is a medium sized round auditorium in the shape of the Sky. Its angle is set for the most pleasant view of performances and the natural lighting system on the back side of the stage creates a unique nature-friendly atmosphere. The 3rd floor provides comfort as a convention hall for international seminars or performance receptions.
The Grand Hall and Chamber Hall is connected to the 2nd floor creating a harmony between the earth and the sky.
The 7th floor Tower Hall is a triangular building in the shape of the Man. There are various sized meeting rooms and a cafe where people can enjoy arts and culture. The Tower Hall's 1st floor has a double-layered structure and is home to the digital university PR hall where visitors can get a brief view of Yeungnam University's history and future vision. In addition to this, it is equipped with special exhibit halls in order to play the role of the new culture incubator for the Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo regions.
Yeungnam University is planning to utilize the Chunma Arts Center as an 'Open Campus' for local residents. The sky lounge of the Tower Hall also has a 360 degree panorama view for a unique experience to visitors. The outdoor exhibition area and green area are expected to act as a community park while also serving as a monumental park for the 60th year of Yeungnam University.
Constructino of Chunma Arts Center started on May 15, 2007 and it was designed by the famous Korean architect Chun-soo Ryu, while Hanjin Heavy Industry and Youngnam Construction's technology completed its construction.
